The Auburn Tigers had their first first-round selection in the NFL Draft since 2020 on Thursday night when the Tennessee Titans took edge rusher Keldric Faulk with the 31st overall pick.
Faulk became one of the nation’s premier pass rushers during his three years on The Plains, racking up 109 tackles and 10 sacks over the course of his career and helping establish the elite defense Auburn had this past season.
He joins a rebuilding Titans team with an exciting young quarterback and Cam Ward, and Tennessee certainly hopes Faulk can be another building block to help this team get back to contending for a playoff spot.
“I don’t even know how to feel right now,” an emotional Faulk said in his interview after he was drafted. “I’m just….I’m happy.”
Back in 2020, the Tigers actually had two first-round selections with Derrick Brown at No. 7 overall and Noah Igbinoghene at No. 30 overall, both of whom would go on to become solid NFL players.
Auburn fans will certainly be watching the Highland Home native very closely and rooting for him strongly as he joins a team to stay in the South — and hopefully take the next step towards becoming a tremendous pro player.
