4 DAYS REMAINING IN THE 2024 ALABAMA LEGISLATIVE SESSION

U.S. Senate candidate Katie Britt launches radio, digital ads touting ALFA endorsement

U.S. Senate hopeful Katie Britt on Tuesday announced that her campaign has released radio and digital advertisements highlighting her recent endorsement from FarmPAC, the political arm of the Alabama Farmers Federation (ALFA).

The 60-second radio spot will broadcast to a few dozen stations across Alabama, according to the campaign.

Britt’s radio spot begins with a voice-over stating, “Katie Britt is a Christian conservative and a can-do business leader who will stand up for our farmers, cattlemen, and foresters and make sure that rural Alabama is never forgotten. That’s why the Alabama Farmers Federation’s political arm is endorsing Katie Britt for the United States Senate.”

Following the voice-over introduction, the candidate then begins outlining the state’s robust agricultural industry and pledges to be a strong advocate for Alabama farmers.

“The agriculture industry is the number one industry in the state, and I will fight each and every day to make sure that they are in the best place possible,” says Britt. “Next to our servicemen and women, there are no greater people in this country than our farmers.”

She adds, “I’m inspired by what they do each and every day. Getting up before God puts the sun up. They’re out in the field, and they’re there until late at night. That kind of work ethic, that kind of dedication, that kind of love for their country – That is what we need more of in this nation.”

The first-time candidate’s digital ad also hails the endorsement she recently received from the influential FarmPAC.

Watch:

ALFA’s political action committee last week announced the slate of candidates it had endorsed for their respected 2022 primary elections. The endorsement is widely seen to be one of great influence, as ALFA represents farming interests from all 67 counties across the Yellowhammer State.

Agriculture in Alabama holds an annual economic impact of $70 billion as 20% of the state’s jobs stems from the industry.

Britt is vying for Alabama’s U.S. Senate seat currently occupied by U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL), whom she formerly served as chief of staff. She is joined by U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Huntsville), businesswoman Jessica Taylor and former U.S. Ambassador to Slovenia Lynda Blanchard as candidates seeking to succeed the long-serving Alabama senator.
