A mom from Jackson County and a Republican candidate for State Board of Education is now receiving support from a very influential organization in the Yellowhammer State.
The Alabama Farmers Federation announced its endorsement Friday of Emily Jones for State School Board, District 8.
“Emily Jones is a staunch conservative who will work in the best interests of our children and their education system,” said DeKalb County Farmers Federation President Clint McElmoyl. “She’s serious about ensuring our children get the quality education they deserve.”
Jones is the founder of the first Moms for Liberty chapter in the state seeking to fight for the preservation of parental rights and the protection of our children.
“Emily Jones is a strong advocate for education and children,” Jackson County Farmers Federation President Phillip Thompson said. “She will see to it that we improve upon the current education system and create more opportunities for our children to excel.”
Jones holds a degree in accounting and business administration from Jacksonville State University. She has spent more than 15 years managing Department of Defense budgets and financial programs where she has overseen tax dollars and ensured fiscal accountability. She also earned professional certifications as a Certified Defense Financial Manager and a Project Management Professional.
Madison County Farmers Federation President Charles Butler echoed McElmoyl and Thompson.
“Emily Jones is a hard-working conservative who will invest her time ensuring our children get the best education possible,” Butler said. “She will go the extra mile to advocate for District 8 and the children and families she will serve.”
District 8 spans rural and suburban communities in portions of DeKalb, Jackson, Limestone and Madison counties.
Jones said she is grateful for ALFA’s support.
“It is a great honor to have the endorsement of the Alabama Farmers Federation,” Jones said. “A strong work ethic, family values and faith are things we share in common, and I will ensure they and all their members along with the people of District 8 are well represented in the education arena.”
