Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe has always been a character during television interviews, with his trademark “ROLL TIDE!” becoming iconic this season after wins.
Milroe had another chance to shine in front of a microphone on Thursday night when his best friend Terrion Arnold was selected by the Detroit Lions with the No. 24 overall pick in the NFL Draft.

Milroe was interviewed in the immediate aftermath and reflected pride for his former teammate and good friend Arnold, but the highlight of the interview came when Laura Rutledge told him that Nick Saban, who was a part of ABC’s coverage, told Milroe that Saban could hear him.
“Hey coach, how you doing?” Milroe said with a huge grin and a hearty laugh. The camera immediately panned to a laughing Saban, who said hello to Jalen and told him that he wished he was down in the green room with his former players.

Before the Saban moment, Milroe spoke glowingly of Arnold.
“We came into college as teammates, but now we’re brothers…to have this opportunity for him is just outstanding. Just to share this moment with him and be here in Michigan it means a lot. I know Terrion has been through a lot…and I’m just amazed at how he is as a person on and off the field and I’m super excited for him and his family,” Milroe said.
Saban’s draft coverage was universally very well received, with most commenting that he already appears as a seasoned pro.
Just another thing for the GOAT to become great at.
