Hurricane Isaias has canceled President Donald Trump’s trip to Tuscaloosa for Saturday’s Alabama-Georgia game, the White House confirmed Friday afternoon.
Tuscaloosa Police spokeswoman Stephanie Taylor said the Secret Service notified the department of the cancellation around 1:30 p.m.
Trump announced the visit last Friday at a rally at the Mitchell Center in Mobile.
“We love it so much that I’ll be here again next Saturday,” Trump said.

Governor Kay Ivey declared a state of emergency in 40 counties this week as Isaias approached. Trump told reporters Wednesday he did not want a presidential visit to pull attention from emergency crews.
“Certainly, I’m going to let the hurricane determine,” Trump said.
No. 6 Alabama and No. 2 Georgia are still scheduled to kick off at 6:30 p.m. on ABC. ESPN’s “College GameDay” has moved inside Coleman Coliseum, and the university canceled the Elephant Stomp and all activity on the Quad.
