Tide in trouble? Sportsbook has Alabama as underdogs in two games this season

Vegas has Alabama as an underdog twice in 2026. One of those lines is raising eyebrows.

The Alabama Crimson Tide are just a few short months away from putting toe to leather on the 2026 season and year three of the Kalen DeBoer era, a campaign that is going to prove absolutely critical for the future of the program.

While there have, of course, been some tremendous moments through the first two seasons of the transition, it would be fair to say that Alabama has fallen short of the championship standard it has set for itself over the last two decades.

Nonetheless, the administration showed its confidence in DeBoer this offseason with an extension to keep him in Tuscaloosa for the long haul, and even though he enters the year under pressure to win, he does so now with complete security on his status.

When looking at the schedule, Alabama is listed by Vegas as an underdog in just two of its games.

According to odds from BetMGM, the Tide is going to be an underdog when they take the field against Georgia on October 10 at Bryant-Denny Stadium, something that is hardly a surprise given the way the Bulldogs thoroughly dominated Alabama in Atlanta at the SEC Championship back in December.

The one that does raise a couple of eyebrows, however, is the line against the LSU Tigers. New head coach Lane Kiffin is being favored by roughly a field goal in a game that should present an absolutely epic showdown in Baton Rouge.

DeBoer found success against the Tigers his first two years, defeating them handily on the road in year one before earning another victory at home last year.

With Kiffin at the helm though, things could be different for LSU as they try to do a program reset of their own.

Regardless of the odds, it looks like it will be another season full of challenging and intriguing matchups for the Tide, and fans can hardly wait for the season to begin.
