USA’s Men’s Basketball Team has advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2014 FIBA World Cup after going a perfect 5-0 in group play and eliminating Mexico in the Round of 16. They are now set to square off against Slovenia in the quarterfinals.
Team USA easily handled Slovenia in an exhibition game just before the World Cup began, but at least one reporter is still not convinced the Americans are familiar enough with the central European nation.
On Monday, a European journalist asked Team USA center DeMarcus Cousins if he knows where Slovenia is. Cousins’ response to the strangely condescending question, as told by Associated Press NBA reporter Brian Mahoney on Twitter, is classic.
Classic U.S. moment: European journalist to DeMarcus Cousins: "Do you know where Slovenia is?" Cousins: "No, do you know where Alabama is?"

Cousins’ trolling skills aren’t the only thing getting high marks this summer. Team USA coach Mike Krzyzewski on Saturday also gave a glowing review of Cousins’ on-the-court performance for the American squad.
“He’d get an A-plus for me today,” Krzyzewski said after Cousins’ 11-point, seven-rebound performance against Mexico. “That’s a couple games in a row where he has been a force for us. He’s a different player than Anthony Davis, and that’s kind of what we were hoping we would continue to move forward with, and DeMarcus is coming through for us.”
