Nick Saban made his week one College GameDay official debut with a big boom as the show was in College Station for the Texas A&M and Notre Dame matchup.
While the show technically kicked off last week in Dublin, more eyes were on Saban and the GameDay crew with week one and the season officially getting kicked off today. It didn’t take the legendary head coach long to make headlines, hilariously dropping an expletive on live television during a discussion about Ohio State’s roster.
After the Buckeyes have raided the transfer portal this offseason for talent including now former Alabama superstar freshman safety Caleb Downs, the reported figure surrounding the roster in Columbus is $20 million spent in NIL deals.
Always the realist, Saban spoke with brutal honesty on the money spent by Ryan Day and the Buckeyes.
"You guys keep talking about a 20 million dollar roster. If you don't pay the right guys, you'll be shit out of luck." – Nick Saban
"Congratulations- you just broke the internet." – Kirk Herbstreit pic.twitter.com/MfGXau6gyh

“I just wanna say, you guys keep talking about a 20 million dollar roster….If you don’t pay the right guys, you’ll be sh*t out of luck,” Saban said, sending the crew into a laughing frenzy.
Clearly, Saban is going to be entertaining this season on television. But he just may have earned himself a talking to from ESPN brass.
