Former Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban has made a serious impression on his new teammates since retiring and joining the desk of “College GameDay.”

One of those teammates is Alabama alumnus and the host of the program, Rece Davis, who made an appearance this year on the “Built4More” podcast, which discusses the mindset, discipline, and faith-driven principles of various successful people.

Davis’ words on working with Saban provide an eye-opening account into the way he goes about his business.

“He is the best communicator I’ve ever seen,” Davis said when asked what made Saban different from every other coach. “He has an uncanny knack to be able to take exactly what people need to hear whether they like it or not and deliver it  in a way that makes you want to do it better.”

“I’ve been around people before who would say things that would make you want to be better in a different way or challenge you in a way that makes you blow up and other things. He says things to you that you know are true and then you want to be better. I thought I knew why he was a good coach, but I’m not sure I understood half of it until I got the chance to be around him like this. He’s just brilliant at being able to cut right through and get to the heart of the matter.”

Davis went on to talk about the impact that Saban had on The University of Alabama financially — turning it into a power for in-state and out-of-state perspective students over the last two decades, something which can be directly attributed to his success on the football field.

Getting the opportunity to see Saban on our televisions every Saturday morning has been fantastic, and for Davis, he gets to see how the greatest of all time operates on a day-to-day basis, something he is clearly extremely grateful for.
