Nick Saban couldn’t stay away from college football for long.
As first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the legendary head coach will be joining ESPN’s College Gameday coverage alongside Rece Davis, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and Pat McAfee.
Saban will also assist ESPN on other college football related programming such as SEC Media Days and the NFL Draft.
“ESPN and ‘College GameDay’ have played such an important role in the growth of college football, and I’m honored to have the opportunity to join their team,” Saban said.
“I’ll do my best to offer additional insights and perspectives to contribute to ‘College GameDay’, the ultimate Saturday tradition for college football fans.”
ESPN’s chairman Jimmy Pitaro also released a statement on the arrival of Saban to the ESPN desk.
“Nick Saban is a singular, iconic presence in college football. He is also an extremely gifted communicator, who will immediately add even more credibility, authority and entertainment value to ESPN, including our esteemed ‘College GameDay’ show,” Pitaro said.
All season, fans got to see a lighter side of Saban with weekly appearances on the “Pat McAfee Show“, and now Saban will get to work directly with McAfee once again.
