The NFL Draft is taking place this week getting started in Green Bay on Thursday evening with the first round coverage.
Despite a year in which he struggled for the Alabama Crimson Tide, quarterback Jalen Milroe is expected to have at least a solid chance of being selected in the first round.
Milroe undeniably has shortcomings as a passer, but his electrifying playmaking ability with his legs has intrigued teams to the point where they may be willing to take a chance on him and try to coach him up.
The week of the draft is always filled with wild reports as teams leak info to the press in order to get someone drafted earlier or fall down the board to them, but the latest report surrounding Milroe is truly out there.
According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, scouts and coaches have said to him that Milroe is the “greatest runner of the football” they have ever evaluated at the quarterback position:

“The eye-opening thing that several, not one but several coaches and scouts told me as I was making calls about all of these quarterbacks is that Jalen Milroe is the greatest runner of the they have ever evaluated at the quarterback position,” Pelissero said. “Not Lamar Jackson, Jalen Milroe is the best runner they have ever seen.”
With over 1,500 rushing yards during his career at Alabama along with 33 touchdowns on the ground including 20 of them coming just this last year alone, Milroe certainly can be a weapon running the ball from the moment he steps foot in the league.
Whether or not this translates to any sustained success through the air remains to be seen, but it sure sounds like teams are willing to find out and take the chance.
