U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) has opened up a nine-point lead in the U.S. Senate runoff election according to a new poll.

According to the survey by Co/efficient, Moore is ahead of Former Navy Seal Jared Hudson 46% to 37% among likely Republican runoff voters, while 17% are still undecided.

Moore finished first in the seven-candidate Republican primary field with 39.18% of the vote, while Hudson secured the second runoff spot with 25.63%.

“Our campaign is surging because, just like President Trump, Alabama conservatives want a fighter we can trust,” Moore said in reaction to the poll. “I’ve been in the fight to shut down illegal immigration, pass the SAVE Act, and preserve our Alabama values. I’m going to keep fighting through June 16 and on to the United States Senate.”

The poll also reveals that the Trump endorsement is making a difference in the race.  It shows Moore leads 58% to 25% among those who describe themselves as Trump Republicans.

This survey shows a striking difference from an Alabama Poll released last week that had Hudson in front of Moore 48.7% to 39.2%, with 12.1% of likely runoff voters still firmly undecided.

Trump reminded voters last week why he has put his support behind Moore in this election.
