According to some recent polling, former Navy Seal Jared Hudson has seen his support rise among likely Alabama voters in his race to become the state’s next U.S. Senator.
Hudson, political newcomer and CEO of Covenant Rescue Group, credits his rise to being an anti-establishment outsider.
“I mean, you got two guys that should be doing way better than I’m doing right now, and they’re not, and there’s a reason why, because everybody’s sick and tired of the same old same old,” Hudson said Friday on WVNN radio. “We’re in this mess because of career politicians.”
A new survey done by Remington Research shows Hudson with 20% support, just three points behind U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) and four points ahead of Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall.
“That’s why Donald Trump was elected in the first place,” Hudson continued. “He was an outsider that got the base, got the people who are going through stuff, and and was able to pull the base into this America First movement, right, and that’s that’s what we’re all a part of. And now it’s the same thing with Alabama, you have to pull the base of voters in Alabama, and they want Alabama first, they want to deliver for the families in the state of Alabama, and they’ve got two guys, they’ve seen that, hey, they never, they haven’t done that, and that’s the biggest thing that I’m here now.”
Hudson admitted that he still has a lot of work to do if he wants to win the primary.
“[Y]ou got to seek every endorsement under the face of the sun, which is fine,” he argued. “You know, I’ve never met President Trump personally. I think he’s doing a lot of great things, but the biggest thing is, is you’re supposed to go out and seek the endorsement of the people of the state of Alabama. That’s one interesting thing I’ve noticed in Alabama, as I go around, as I’ve been in every county, shaking hands with people at every event, talk to people at every event, that really resonates.”
