A new poll in Alabama’s U.S. Senate race might be revealing the impact that President Donald Trump’s endorsement is having for the candidate he’s endorsed for the job.
According to the survey by Peak Insights, U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) has expanded his lead in the primary race with 34% support.
Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall is in second place with 16%, followed by former U.S. Navy Seal Jared Hudson at 12% support. Businessman Rodney Walker is at 2% in the poll.
“Barry Moore leads in every media market,” Erik Iverson with Peak Insights said in a polling memo.
“Moore also leads among both men and women and voters of all ages. Among ‘Trump/MAGA’ wing voters (who make up 67% of the primary electorate in AL), Moore leads Marshall, 42-14%. Moore also leads Marshall by double digits among both ‘Conservative’ and ‘very’ Conservative voters, who combined make up 88% of the vote.”
Peak Insights called 500 likely Republican voters from April 11-13.
The poll also shows that Moore would best Marshall in a potential runoff election 47-27%.
According to Iverson, the Trump endorsement seems to be a major factor in growing support for Moore.
“Fully 56% of voters are aware that Moore has been endorsed by President Trump, and among this group Moore leads Marshall 53-18% on the full-field ballot,” he said. “As voters continue to learn about the Trump endorsement Moore’s lead on the ballot will continue to grow.”
The Moore campaign announced Thursday that they’ve raised $1 million in the first quarter of 2026.
The Republican Primary election is May 19th.
