U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) is highlighting a new poll that reveals a most American parents don’t want broadcasters trying to indoctrinate American children into the radical transgender movement.

Earlier this month, the congressman introduced legislation requiring televised parental disclaimers to warn viewers when children’s programming contains transgender, non-binary, gender transition, or abnormal gender expression themes.

“My legislation holds media companies accountable by requiring clear warning labels when children’s programming contains transgender themes, gender transition content, or other gender identity messaging,” Moore said about his bill. “Families should not be blindsided by ideological content hidden inside entertainment marketed to minors. This bill empowers parents to make informed decisions and restores common sense.”

According to a new Zogby Analytics poll commissioned by Concerned Women for America (CWA), that a majority of U.S. parents want TV content ratings to advise them of violence, sexual content, or other sensitive themes like LGBTQ messaging or characters, in children’s TV programming.

Moore, who is also the Republican nominee to be Alabama’s next U.S. Senator, shared the results on X and promoted his bill on the issue.

“I have legislation sitting in the House right now that would require labels on children’s shows that push transgender propaganda,” he said. The majority of American parents want this, let’s make it happen!”

Moore’s bill includes new disclaimers for the current ratings system that notifies viewers of violence, sexual content, language, and suggestive dialogue.

The survey showed 87.1% of respondents said either “very important” or “somewhat important” to include content labels to advise parents of the presence of content they might want to avoid — such as violence, sexual content, or other sensitive themes like LGBTQ messaging or characters.

“As the FCC decides if the TV content ratings system needs to alert parents to sensitive content in children’s TV programs, our poll data shows that parents overwhelmingly want to be informed. Parents should be able to make informed viewing decisions for their children, but currently, parents have no way of knowing whether LGBTQ+ content is in that program. It’s time to give parents that choice,” said Penny Nance, CEO and President, Concerned Women for America.
