Former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Ty Simpson has clearly been living the good life since heading out West after the Los Angeles Rams made him the No. 13 overall selection in the NFL Draft last April.

Simpson, who will begin his first NFL training camp next month with the Rams, is expected to compete with Stetson Bennett – the former two-time national champion at Georgia – for the backup job behind reigning league MVP Matthew Stafford.

That pressure hasn’t stopped Simpson from getting in on some of the World Cup fun though, and with Team USA in Los Angeles to wrap up their group stage against Turkey, Simpson was seen on the broadcast with new teammate — superstar wide receiver Puka Nacua — as well as mega famous actor Ashton Kutcher.

Simpson was not able to provide Team USA enough luck, as they wound up dropping the game 3-2 in a heartbreaking finish, but USA is still onto the knockout stages next week in San Francisco against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As for Simpson, it’s nice to see him getting close with his new teammates, and it looks like he clearly enjoyed the unique experience of getting to watch his country play in his future stadium.
