Broome had an absolutely sensational season for Bruce Pearl and the Auburn Tigers, finishing as both the team’s leading scorer (16.5 PPG) and rebounder (8.5 RPG) along with a ridiculous 14 double-doubles.
He was named a consensus All-American and was critical in leading Auburn to an SEC Tournament title in Nashville.
Broome was named MVP of the tournament and for his efforts during the season along with being an All-American he was on the All-SEC first team and SEC-Defensive first team.
Auburn’s men’s basketball program was also recognized as Auburn University’s team of the year after a 27-win regular season that included a 15-1 record at home.
Dylan Cardwell along with gymnast Sophia Groth were recognized with the David Housel Spirit of Auburn Award, given to those who most “inspire others and selflessly giving their time and talents to the betterment of their teams.”
