One of the premier non-conference events in college basketball every single year is the SEC vs. ACC challenge, where teams from each of the two powerful hoops conferences either host or hit the road against a team from the opposite league they are matched up against.
While hoops season is of course still many months away, fans can mark their calendars and potentially even start planning trips to new spots. As for the schools in this state, each will have a unique challenge.
The Alabama Crimson Tide will hit the road to take on the Miami Hurricanes after facing Clemson last year, while Auburn now heads to Clemson in an all Tiger matchup after having to play the Duke Blue Devils two years ago and NC State last year.
Auburn’s game will be on Tuesday, December 1, while Alabama plays in Coral Gables the following day on Wednesday, December 2.
Other exciting showdowns include Duke headed to Florida to face the Gators, Arkansas having to travel to Chapel Hill to take on the UNC Tar Heels, and Kentucky headed to Charlottesville to face the Virginia Cavaliers.
Last year, the SEC won a very tightly contested 16 games, taking nine of them in some very close games. After a couple of very strong years as a conference on the hardwood, they will be hungry to do just that again.
