The LSU Tigers and Ole Miss Rebels are taking the field Saturday night in Oxford for what is one of the most anticipated regular season games in some time as Lane Kiffin makes his return.

Kiffin will not be met with a positive reception after an absolutely wild coach hiring cycle ended with him in Baton Rouge and Pete Golding in charge at Ole Miss. If the outside factor aspect of it did not have enough appeal, it’s also an early top-10 showdown between two great teams who hope to compete for an SEC title.

For Kiffin though, even though he has put on a composed face this week publicly, it’s clear that this one is personal.

On3’s Chris Low put out a story Friday morning which quoted a source from within the LSU program that detailed just how badly Kiffin wants this win.

“This one is personal for him, more than you will ever know,” the source told Low. “Lane is pretty good at putting on one face publicly, but showing another face to his team. They’re well aware of what this game means to him and how personal it is. He doesn’t just want to beat these guys. He wants to embarrass them, and he wants the heat, wants every bit of it. That’s his comfort zone.”

Saturday night could be an absolutely epic showdown, and time will tell if Kiffin and his team are able to earn this very personal win.
