The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is calling on Alabamians to vote the state’s entry to the top of the American Association of State Troopers’ 13th Annual America’s Best Looking Cruiser Contest, a national showdown of trooper rides from all across the country.

This year’s Alabama submission is a showstopper: ALEA’s Chevrolet Camaro and Chevrolet Tahoe, side by side beneath the lights of the National Peanut Festival in Dothan. The agency said the photo was chosen to capture both Alabama pride and the dedication of the ALEA personnel who serve communities across the state every day.

There’s more than bragging rights on the line. The agency that racks up the most votes earns the title of America’s Best Looking Cruiser and the cover of the 2027 America’s Best Looking Trooper Cruisers Wall Calendar — and calendar sales benefit the American Association of State Troopers Foundation, which provides educational scholarships to the children of member troopers.

Alabama has made a habit of swinging big in this contest. Last year’s entry featured Gov. Kay Ivey and Miss America 2025 Abbie Stockard flanked by a Trooper Tahoe and an ALEA Camaro. The year before that, the agency parked its Dodge Challenger in front of the USS Alabama in Mobile, and a 2022 entry paid tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen with a “Red Tails” F-16 in the backdrop.

“This annual contest is a fun way to engage in friendly competition with our fellow state agencies for a good cause,” ALEA Secretary Hal Taylor said of last year’s contest.

Voting opened June 29 and runs through 11 a.m. CT (noon ET) on July 13. Supporters can cast a ballot at surveymonkey.com/r/2026bestlookingcruiser, or reach the contest through the AAST website at statetroopers.org or the association’s Facebook page.

Voters browse the submitted photos, pick their favorite from the drop-down menu, complete a quick CAPTCHA and submit. Only one vote per device is permitted for the duration of the contest.

“Vote today and help drive Alabama to victory!” the agency said in its announcement.
