WATCH: Alabama dedicates Saban Field in powerful halftime tribute

While the performance of the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday night was far from what was expected in a win over South Florida that was closer than it should have been, it was an incredibly special day for the program with the official dedication of Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Over the summer, news broke that the field of Bryant-Denny Stadium would be re-named to include the legendary head coach following his retirement to, a move that was celebrated by Tide fans around the country.

On Saturday night, the University of Alabama officially dedicated the field and added Saban’s name to the sign, but the most emotional and noteworthy moment of the night was the halftime ceremony.

For one last time, the greatest of all time came out of the tunnel to ACDC’s iconic song “Thunderstruck” and was met by the loudest roar of the night from the crowd:

Saban addressed the crowd after an introduction from Chris Stewart and thanked the fans for their support of the program over the years and making his and Miss Terry’s time in Tuscaloosa so special.

Hopefully, the legacy of success can continue post-Saban and plenty of wins will be had on Saban Field.
