While the result could have been better in Alabama’s gymnastics loss to Oklahoma Friday night, there was still a cause for celebration afterward.
Former Alabama wide receiver and current Seattle Seahawks receiver Kevin Norwood proposed to his longtime girlfriend Alabama gymnast Kayla Williams after her final home meet, and she said yes.

Norwood was on the floor presenting flowers to the night’s winners of each event, a usual ceremony for a gymnastics meet. He took photos with the winners and then with Alabama’s team, Alabama head gymnastics coach Dana Duckworth — one of only four people to know about the proposal — suggested Norwood and Williams get a picture alone, and that’s when Norwood popped the question.
“I’m about to get married to the best girl in the world, and I don’t know, I’m just ecstatic right now,” Norwood told the Crimson White. “I don’t know. Words can’t explain.”
The Alabama sports power couple has six rings between the two of them — four national championships and two SEC championships — and they’ll add another pair when they get married.
