Tim Tebow to serve as Grand Marshall at Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama

Barber Motorsports Park and Zoom Motorsports on Tuesday announced former Heisman winner and first-round draft pick Tim Tebow will be the Grand Marshal for the 12th anniversary of the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama.

Tebow starred at the University of Florida from 2006-2009 and went on to play in the NFL with the Denver Broncos before working as an analyst for ESPN and becoming a New York Times Bestseller and philanthropist.

George Dennis, president of ZOOM Motorsports, said in a statement, “We are honored to have sports icon Tim Tebow as our Grand Marshal for the 12th anniversary of the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama presented by AmFirst.”

He added, “Tebow’s charisma and notoriety will add to the excitement of the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama.”

The race, which will be held from April 29 through May 1 at Barber Motorsports Park in Leeds, has quickly grown into a classic Birmingham sports event. This year’s series will include 10 races held over three days with many racing icons such as Jimmie Johnson, Romain Grosjean, Scott Dixon and Alex Palou.

In addition to the races, there will be an art festival, the INDY 5K, a Fan Zone and more events over the weekend for the whole family.
