Runaway goat captured after citywide adventure in Tuscaloosa

The Tuscaloosa Police Department tracked down a recent runaway. However, this runaway wasn’t of the human variety.

A goat gave officers and bystanders quite a surprise Saturday afternoon as it made its way through town, stopping at several local landmarks before being safely captured, according to the department’s Facebook post.

The goat was first seen trotting past Billy’s on Main Avenue before crossing the bridge and making an unexpected stop near the TDOT building. After an hour-long chase, officers finally caught up with the animal on Seventh Street.

Animal control took custody of the goat, which was unharmed but seemed tired after its adventure. Authorities are now looking for its owner.

Meanwhile, Officer Wilson, who helped capture the runaway, reportedly needed a good scrub afterward—suggesting that goats may not make the best running partners.
