A Poarch Creek Indian executive who helps lead the Tribe’s growing federal contracting enterprise serving U.S. government agencies and the Department of Defense has been elected to the board of the Native American Contractors Association, a national organization that advocates for Native-owned businesses competing for federal contracts.
Mal McGhee, executive vice president of PCI Federal, was recently elected to the association’s Board of Directors. The organization represents companies owned by Indian Tribes, Alaska Native Corporations and Native Hawaiian Organizations and works to preserve and expand opportunities in federal government contracting.
PCI Federal, the Poarch Band of Creek Indians’ federal contracting enterprise, provides aviation and engineering, information technology, construction, manufacturing, facilities management, environmental and professional services to federal civilian agencies and the U.S. Department of Defense through a portfolio of tribally owned companies.
McGhee, a Tribal citizen of the Poarch Creek Indians, has spent decades helping grow the Tribe’s business enterprises through federal contracting, aerospace manufacturing, economic development and strategic growth initiatives. According to the Tribe, he has helped expand its business portfolio while strengthening opportunities across government and commercial sectors.
“I am honored to join the NACA Board of Directors and to support an organization that plays such a critical role in advancing Native economic opportunity,” McGhee said. “I look forward to working alongside fellow board members to strengthen advocacy efforts, expand opportunities for Native-owned businesses, and continue creating lasting economic impact for Tribal communities across the country.”
McGhee was one of four representatives elected during the association’s recent board elections. The newly elected directors represent companies involved in construction, professional services, infrastructure, and government contracting and will help guide the organization’s advocacy efforts.
In addition to his responsibilities at PCI Federal, McGhee has served in leadership positions within tribal government and on numerous community and industry boards. He also serves as treasurer of the Aerospace States Association.
Formed in 2003, the Native American Contractors Association represents 45 organizations nationwide that collectively serve more than one million Tribal citizens, Alaska Native shareholders, and Native Hawaiians. The organization advocates for policies that promote economic development and fair access to federal contracting opportunities for Native-owned enterprises.
