The Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers men’s basketball programs are playing in a rare preseason exhibition game in Birmingham later this month, and there’s a unique twist.

Both teams are going to wear their road uniforms for a navy vs. crimson showdown, allegedly a first for the two programs. Fans are being encouraged to wear navy and crimson as well, as the arena will be split down the middle with fans in each color representing their school.

The game will take place on October 22 in Legacy Arena and still has roughly 3,500 seats available of the more than 17,000, according to BamaOnLine – with Auburn fans currently outpacing Alabama fans in ticket purchases.

Fans are able to purchase tickets specifically for the side of their respective school here ahead of the special event which has folks across the state ready for basketball season.

It seems likely that Legacy Arena will be sold out for a preseason game, something that could only happen in a state where the rivalry runs deep.
