Kiffin has his QB: LSU star transfer Sam Leavitt expected to be fully healthy this summer

The roller coaster that is SEC football is always going to be a thrilling ride each and every year, but it does feel like it has a little more juice this coming fall based on the way the season came to a close last year.

In the most dramatic coach hiring cycle we have seen maybe ever, things ended with old friend Lane Kiffin heading from Ole Miss to LSU to take over a Tigers program where he will have national title expectations.

Those expectations are impossible to live up to without a capable quarterback, and after Kiffin missed out on bringing Trinidad Chambliss with him from Oxford, he had to hit the portal.

Landing on Arizona State star Sam Leavitt, hopes were high that Leavitt would be able to run Kiffin’s offense at a high level. However, a foot injury suffered last season had the waters muddied throughout spring ball as the gunslinger was limited.

According to Kiffin himself though, Leavitt is going to be just fine.

Kiffin told media that Leavitt is going to be fully cleared for all activities this summer and be a go for preseason camp, meaning that he will get a full couple of months to get ready to lead the Tigers into battle.

Given that LSU faces both Alabama and Auburn this season, fans in the Yellowhammer State had better get familiar with Leavitt now, because Kiffin is going to be pushing to win with him right away.
