You won’t believe how cheaply you can get into these CFP quarter final games

The College Football Playoff quarterfinals are taking place in the first edition of the expanded 12-team field over New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, and in a year where the sport has seen some staggering ticket prices, the get-in prices for these games are staggeringly low.

All four major bowl games are being played as quarter finals with the remaining New Year’s Six playing out in the semifinals. By far the most expensive ticket for the quarterfinal is to the Rose Bowl between Ohio State and Oregon. The most expensive is still extremely reasonable however according to a tweet from Stewart Mandel of The Athletic breaking down the prices.

Mandel’s tweet states you can get into the Rose Bowl in Pasadena for the cheap price of $170 relative to a huge college football game of that kind of magnitude.

From there, things plummet.

The Fiesta Bowl in Arizona between Penn State and Boise State has a get in price of $40, the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans between Notre Dame and Georgia has a get in price of $33, and a ticket to the Peach Bowl in Atlanta between Texas and Arizona State can be had for less than a $20 bill.

Why exactly these major games are so cheap is a mystery, but it’s safe to say they are still trying to fill the buildings up just a day before the games.
