Vanderbilt mercilessly trolls Alabama after win, plays Saban quote on big screen

The Vanderbilt Commodores earned a shocking 40-35 victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide in Nashville on Saturday marking the first loss of the Kalen DeBoer era and arguably the worst loss in program history for Alabama.

As if things were not tough enough for the Tide, as Commodores quarterback Diego Pavia took a knee to finish the game, Vanderbilt’s video board operator got the chance to play a clip featuring former Alabama coach, Nick Saban.

Just two weeks ago, Saban, who now is an ESPN analyst, commented on the toughest places to play within the SEC and said something that will be infamous in Tuscaloosa for the rest of time.

In the chaos of the victory, the clip ran several times on the stadium big board as Vanderbilt got their first-ever win ever over a team ranked No. 1.

You have to respect the level of pettiness from the Commodores for having the clip on hand and ready to go. On the other side of the coin, it’s safe to say this isn’t a loss that many Tide fans will soon get over.
