New Kentucky Wildcats head coach Will Stein has created some headlines this offseason since taking the job in Lexington, and now he is facing one of the biggest games in program history.

With the Alabama Crimson Tide coming to town, Stein believes his team can have a chance to pull off the upset if the crowd can create the kind of environment that is difficult to play in. In a rant which is going to buy himself a whole lot of good will with the fanbase, Stein called on Big Blue Nation to do whatever it takes to make Alabama uncomfortable including some absolutely wild measures.

“I want them in there 45-30 minutes before, standing up, screaming obscenities at our opponent, making them feel very unwanted at Kroger Field,” Stein directed the fanbase at Alabama. “Sneak a flask in, do whatever you have to do.”

The Tide has not lost to Kentucky since 1997, and this is the streak Kalen DeBoer will be trying to keep alive during Keelon Russell’s first SEC start as well as his first action away from home.

Clearly, Russell is going to be walking into a very tough atmosphere full of fans who are screaming, hostile, and potentially inebriated if Stein gets his wish.

There could not be a better ‘Welcome to the SEC’ moment for the young quarterback.
