Week two of the college football season has come and gone, and with it, a new edition of the AP Poll has dropped after an absolutely wild weekend across the sport.
Following their shocking and historic comeback victory over No. 1 Ohio State, the Texas Longhorns are the new top dog in the nation in a top-10 that, as per usual, is littered with teams from the SEC.

The Georgia Bulldogs remained at No. 2 in the nation while Alabama made its first appearance this year in the top-10 following the second half dismantling of the Kentucky Wildcats on the road in the SEC opener. Additionally, LSU rose another spot to No. 7 while closely followed by Ole Miss at No. 8 and Texas A&M at No. 9 after all three earned victories as well.
It’s still extremely early in the season, but it’s been a great start so far for those who hope to see the SEC see significant representation in the College Football Playoff and perhaps end the drought for the conference of three years without a national title.
As the season continues to develop, the SEC teams at the top of the rankings will be under a close microscope as the pressure only continues to ramp up each and every week.
