TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama’s Culverhouse undergraduate school of business’s online program was listed as the number three such program in the nation in a new ranking by bestcolleges.org.

“I am proud of how our faculty and staff have created such a successful program with a global reputation,” said Jennifer Humber, director of Culverhouse Online Services. “Even though our students are not physically located on campus, we strive to maintain a personal connection with them while they pursue their academic and professional goals. This recognition is an encouragement to our team as we continue to serve our students.”

The accredited program was founded in 2006 as part of the Bama by Distance program that allows a more flexible way for students to receive their bachelors degree from the University of Alabama.

A report on the honor by the student newspaper at the University, The Crimson White, highlighted the story of a student whose participation in the program allows her to continue working full time while pursuing her degree.

“I would not be able to continue my education without the program,” said online student Cecily Deavours. “I depend on my income from my career, so leaving temporarily to attend on-campus classes was simply not an option. I am able to enjoy the best of both worlds because of distance learning.”

Here are the top 10 online bachelors programs in business:
