Tuberville touts Trump endorsement, calls Sessions ‘not man enough’ in latest ad

Former Auburn University head football coach Tommy Tuberville on Thursday afternoon released the latest video ad in his campaign for the U.S. Senate.

Tuberville, who was endorsed by President Donald J. Trump this week, is running in Alabama’s Republican primary runoff against former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

That endorsement, as well as Sessions’ tenure as Trump’s first attorney general, is the focus of the new Tuberville ad. Sessions resigned at the president’s request in late 2018.

Tuberville, appearing on camera in a weight room, says, “You can’t fake it. You’re either strong or you’re not. And Jeff Sessions — he’s not. He wasn’t man enough to stand with President Trump when things got tough.”

“And now he’s telling lies about me to cover it all up,” Tuberville continues. “It’s time for these weak politicians to go.”

“I’m very proud to be endorsed by President Trump,” the former coach adds. “I’m running to help him drain the swamp and build the wall.”

Watch:

The runoff will be held March 31.
