Christian evangelical leader Scott Dawson endorsed Secretary of State Wes Allen in the Republican lieutenant governor runoff, citing a decade-long relationship and Allen’s record in statewide office.
“Why do we need to be for one person and against another?” Dawson said. “Let’s not be like that in 2026. I’m voting for Wes Allen to be our next Lt. Governor for several reasons.”
“1. I’ve known him for over a decade and have seen him be consistent in his walk. 2. I believe he has the skill set necessary to lead Alabama. 3. He has the experience in statewide office that has allowed him to develop relationships to be effective in office. 4. He has been willing to serve the state while also leading his family. Again, I’m not against his opponent. I wish him all the success possible in his endeavors. I’m voting for Wes Allen in 2026 and would ask you to consider supporting him,” Dawson said.
Dawson founded the Scott Dawson Evangelical Association and the Strength to Stand Conference, which hosts annual events featuring Christian artists and speakers.
“I am deeply honored to have earned Scott Dawson’s endorsement,” Allen said. “My Christian faith is the most important thing to me. Scott is a man that has made a profound impact with his ministry for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He is a man of deep conviction and a person who has helped changed lives in our state, our nation and across the world.”
Allen faces Trump-endorsed former ALGOP Chairman John Wahl in the Republican lieutenant governor runoff on June 16.
