U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) is backing the recently negotiated Memorandum of Understanding that President Donald Trump signed to end the conflict against the Iranian regime.

Trump signed the deal during his visit to the G7 Summit Wednesday, saying that it makes sure Iran never obtains a nuclear weapon.

Under the terms of the deal both sides agreed to stop military operations while also allowing the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

“These fools, who think I haven’t been tough enough on Iran, when the Stock Market Just Hit A RECORD HIGH, and Oil prices are ‘tumbling’ down, are either jealous, bad people, or stupid,” President Trump wrote on Truth Social early Thursday.

Tuberville defended the deal on X Thursday.

“As per usual, the Legacy Media are trying to undermine the administration,” Tuberville said. “If there’s one thing @POTUS has shown time and time again, it’s to NEVER bet against Donald J. Trump. President Trump made history in 2020 with the Abraham Accords, and I have no doubt that he will once again secure PEACE for America and our allies.”

The senator explained some of the terms of the agreement during a recent appearance on “Kudlow” on Fox Business channel.

“[T]here will be no money given, no money given whatsoever, Tuberville said. “There won’t even be sanctions given until they make sure that they do the right thing when it comes to the uranium. So, I don’t think we have to worry about that. I think President Trump’s adamant that, you know, we’ve given way too much money away overseas at Ukraine, what, three $50 billion We don’t, American taxpayers, Larry, they can’t afford it. We’re dead broke up here, so we got to make sure if we’re going to spend any money, we spend it the right way, and it surely doesn’t need to be in Iran.”

Tuberville warned the Iranian regime of what will happen to them if they don’t keep their end of the bargain.

“Well, they don’t have a track record, they’re awful, they’re they’re about 1,000% aligned to us every time they do some kind of deal,” he argued. “But I trust President Trump, I trust Vice President Vance. We don’t need to listen to anybody up here on Capitol Hill. Let’s trust these two, they’ve been at this now since they’ve been in office. We’re fortunate that our one where our first strike was a perfect strike on about 50 to 55 of their leaders, Larry, and at the end of the day, it’s the only time in your my lifetime that we’ve had this opportunity. So, let’s take advantage of it. Let’s put the pressure on them, and again, like he said, all hell will break loose if they break this treaty.”
