U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) is making it clear that one of his top priorities if he’s elected governor will be to protect Alabama values from the “woke mob.”

Tuberville, who is the Republican nominee in the gubernatorial race against former U.S. Sen. Doug Jones (D-Mountain Brook), has released his campaign’s “Back to Basics: Golden Age Playbook” which outlines how he plans to govern the Yellowhammer State.

“In the Senate, I have stood with President Trump and with the men and women who wear the badge,” Tuberville said. “I have fought for immigration enforcement, American workers, career and technical education, and rural hospitals. I’m bringing those fights home, along with the beliefs I’ve always had: faith in God, the strength of the family, the value of every life, the Second Amendment, and the idea that what you earn belongs to you.”

The playbook says governing will start with Alabama Values, and lays out seven priorities, eight bills for his first legislative session and a public scoreboard he says voters should use to grade him, less than two weeks before the November 3 general election for Governor of Alabama.

“Alabama is not California, and it never will be,” it states. “We don’t need Montgomery to do more. We need it to do the right things well, stand up for the values that built this state, and then get out of the way.”

One of the main priorities will be improving education, which will include funding public school while also expanding school choice.

“I started out as a high school teacher and coach, and I spent my whole career working with young people,” Tuberville said. “Here’s what I learned. Our kids shouldn’t just be college ready or career ready. They should be LIFE READY: able to read, write, and do the math, ready to work, and ready to build a good life right here in Alabama.”

According to the playbook, Tuberville wants to expand school choice to every family. Starting in 2027, every Alabama family can apply for the CHOOSE Act, whatever their income. The plan is to fully fund it in the first budget so the money follows the child, run it cleanly, and publish the results. Tuberville also wants to make sure of President Trump’s new federal scholarship tax credit, because no child should be trapped in a failing school.

Tuberville also wants to see the “Alabama Life Ready Act” pass, which will put parents in charge of their children’s education, with the right to see what’s taught and to choose their school.

“THE WOKE MOB DOESN’T GET A VOTE IN ALABAMA,” the playbook says. “No DEI in state government or our schools. No men in women’s sports. No gender ideology in any classroom. No tax dollars for abortion. And no apologies for our faith.”
