For the first time in program history, Troy baseball is headed to a Super Regional.

Troy will also get the chance to host the best-of-three series with a trip to the College Word Series on the line after Southern Miss was eliminated in the Hattiesburg Regional by Little Rock.

After dropping the first game of the Gainesville Regional, the Trojans would go on to win four straight to eliminate Florida and get the chance to host Little Rock with the stakes as high as possible. On Monday night, it was a 10-2 victory for Troy to lock things up and clinch the historic home trip to the Super Regional round.

“We were prepared for this,” Troy coach Skylar Meade said via ALdotcom. “That is not something that’s just being said after the fact. We were absolutely prepared for this every step of the way. Everything that’s going on inside of our program, we were built to do what we did, and we absolutely earned it. And I think there’s a lot of beauty in the way we earned it.”

“Culture prevails. And when you have the culture we have, you find a way to do special things. We’ve had our hearts ripped out in our program many of times. And you know what? They reward you in life for being tough. And our program is built on that.”

The first matchup in the best-of-three showdown against Little Rock will be Friday at 4:00 p.m. CST on ESPNU with game two being contested on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. CST on ESPN2. Should a decisive game three be needed, it would be contested at a to be determined time on Sunday.
