The National Weather Service (NWS) has confirmed that seven tornadoes struck central Alabama on Saturday, increasing from the initial count of five. The outbreak included one EF3 tornado, two EF2 tornadoes, two EF1 tornadoes, and two EF0 tornadoes.
Survey teams have assessed damage in 16 areas and are continuing their work, with additional evaluations scheduled for Pike, Pickens, Tuscaloosa, and Walker counties on Monday, followed by Chambers, Coosa, and Sumter counties in the coming days.

Total Deaths and Widespread Damage
With the latest confirmations, three fatalities have now been reported from the tornadoes, including two deaths in Plantersville and one in Winterboro. The storms were part of a broader severe weather system that affected multiple states, contributing to at least 39 deaths nationwide.
Authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant as recovery efforts continue. Emergency response teams are assisting those affected, and damage assessments are expected to take several more days to complete.
