Reward Offered For Teen Girls Missing From Alabama and Mississippi

Photo: Greene County (MS) Facebook Page

Last week, the Greene County (Mississippi) Sherriff’s Office reported the disappearance of sixteen-year-old Claudia Landrum (16) from Washington, Alabama and Kaelyn Smith  (17) Greene, Mississippi. The GCSD believes the pair of runaways are together but, obviously, the police and the girl’s families want to find them and ensure their safety.

Yesterday, the department said they’re offering a $2,000 cash reward for anyone providing information that leads them to locate the teens, thanks to donations by Cherokee Bail Bonds and the Fraternal Order of the Police.

Tuesday, the Department posted an update on its Facebook page:

[The two girls] were spotted at Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church at the intersection of Union Road and Brewertown Road, Greene County on Monday night. Mississippi Department of Corrections; South Mississippi Correctional Institution’s K9 unit tracked the girls to Brewertown Road but due to rainy weather the K9s lost their tracks. The last known location of the girls was heading north beside Brewertown Road. We encourage all area citizens to be on the lookout for these two juveniles. Immediately contact any law enforcement agency, Greene County Sheriff’s Office at 601-394-2341 or dial 911 if you should spot the two.

A previous post by the GCSD said, that the pair “could possibly be traveling together in a dark colored Chevrolet with (two) six inch LED lights below the bumper. Harboring a juvenile runaway is punishable in the State of Mississippi up to and including a $1,000 fine and one year in jail.”

Please call the Greene County Sheriff’s Office at 601-394-2341 if you have any information about these two teens.
