Milroe on Sayin: ‘He spins the ball really well’

Alabama’s newest 5-star prospect and possible future heir to the quarterback throne is already making an impression on the current QB1 in Tuscaloosa.

Julian Sayin, the No. 1 ranked quarterback in the class of 2024, is among the early enrollees in the class of 2024 that have joined the Crimson Tide for Rose Bowl practice.

Jalen Milroe offered high praise for the young gunslinger from Carlsbad in what limited action he’s seen from him so far:

“He spins the ball really well. It’s been really good to have him in the room, to have another guy in the room. With everything, just appreciative to have another brother in the room. He’s doing a really good job practicing. He’s a good dude,” Milroe said.

Milroe, who was an early enrollee of the 2021 class, went on to say that he has found himself in a similar situation to the one Sayin now finds himself in:

“I’ve been in his shoes, being a freshman coming into college. All I can try to do is give him the information that I’ve gotten and really allow him to be a sponge with all the information that I have and just be a good teammate for him,” Milroe said.

Sayin, who was named MVP of the Elite 11 back in June, is rated as the No. 5 overall prospect in the class according to 247’s Composite rankings and will look to make a statement right away in Tuscaloosa.
With Milroe announcing last week he would be returning next season, Sayin will likely have to wait his turn. But if he is talented as his recruiting profile suggests, it won’t be easy to keep him off the field.
Keep an eye on Sayin throughout spring practice and fall camp.
