With Alabama’s Aug. 11 special primary just days away, Manufacture Alabama has announced its endorsement of U.S. Rep. Gary Palmer’s bid for another term representing Alabama’s 6th Congressional District.
The statewide manufacturing trade association said Palmer has been a reliable advocate for Alabama manufacturers during his time in Congress, pointing to his support for policies that encourage economic growth, strengthen domestic manufacturing, improve workforce development and maintain reliable infrastructure.
“Congressman Palmer has been a consistent advocate for Alabama’s manufacturers,” said Jon Barganier, president and CEO of Manufacture Alabama. “He understands the importance of maintaining a strong business climate through regulatory certainty, competitive tax policy, workforce development and reliable infrastructure. His proven leadership is widely respected both in Alabama and Washington, D.C. and his time in Congress has helped ensure manufacturers are in the best position for continued job growth and further investments.”
Palmer welcomed the endorsement as voters prepare to head to the polls.
“I’m proud to have the endorsement of Manufacture Alabama heading into August 11th,” said Congressman Palmer. “Alabama manufacturers don’t ask for much. They want a level playing field, reliable energy, and a government that stays out of their way. That’s exactly what I’ve fought for in Washington and exactly what I’ll keep fighting for. Their jobs are real. Their investments are real. And my commitment to them is real.”
Palmer, who is seeking a seventh term in Congress, faces Republican challenger Case Dixon, a physical therapist assistant making his first run for Congress, in the Republican primary for Alabama’s 6th Congressional District.
According to Manufacture Alabama, Palmer has built a record of supporting policies designed to promote economic growth, strengthen domestic manufacturing and encourage private-sector investment. The organization also credited him with working to reduce unnecessary regulations, support energy reliability and advocate for a competitive business climate for manufacturers and other employers.
Manufacture Alabama is the state’s only trade association dedicated exclusively to representing the legislative, regulatory and operational interests of manufacturers and their partner industries. The organization represents hundreds of companies ranging from international corporations to small family-owned businesses across Alabama.
