Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen is reminding voters of important information ahead of the August 11 special primary election for the state’s 1st, 2nd, 6th and 7th congressional districts.

“AlabamaVotes.gov remains the best resource for voters preparing to exercise their right to vote in the August 11 Special Primary Election,” Allen said. “Alabamians can verify their congressional district and voter registration status, find their polling location, and review their county’s sample ballot so that they are fully prepared when heading to the polls.”

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day.

Voters must present a valid form of photo identification before voting at their polling place or by absentee ballot.

Election results will be be posted at each polling place in a visible location. Cumulative unofficial results will also be available on AlabamaVotes.gov.

Allen also expressed his support and gratitude to local election officials preparing for the special primary election.

“Our elections would not be possible without the dedication of the local election officials who work tirelessly to ensure every Alabama election is conducted securely, transparently, and with accountability. I commend our probate judges, circuit clerks, sheriffs, boards of registrars, and poll workers for the important role they play in the Alabama elections process,” Allen said.

Voters can also use the congressional district map available through Alabama’s official redistricting website to confirm which district they live in.
