U.S. Rep. Gary Palmer (R-Hoover) believes some Democrat members of Congress are scared after the recent victories from radical leftists in New York City.
Tuesday on “The Rightside” with Allison Sinclair and Amie Beth Shaver, presented by Yellowhammer News, the congressman discussed the recent election wins from Democratic Socialists in places like the Big Apple.
“I think some of them are wet in their pants,” Palmer quipped. “I mean, they don’t know what to do. Last week, after what happened in New York, one of the Democrats, who’s Jewish, walked up to me and he said, ‘It’s a bad time to be a Jew. Okay.’ And I could see the consternation in his face. I mean, genuine fear.”
Palmer explained why some in the opposite party are concerned about the rise of the radical left in their ranks.
“I think I talked with some others…and so we’re all in the gym, and I was listening in on some of their conversations, and they’re genuinely concerned, he said. “I think they’re concerned on on two levels, one, they’re concerned about the rhetoric and the positions that these people have, but they’re also concerned on a personal level that they’re going to get beat.”
“There’s a Democrat lockers by me, and he was talking about how he’s got one of these communists running against him in Massachusetts. I think that they’re really at a loss for what to do. And eventually they’re going to have to decide, and you know there’s only one or two Democrats that I think could legitimately switch parties, but I think it’s too late. I think we got a chance to beat both of them.”
Palmer said it’s sad to see the rise of communism in their Party, but also admitted that it will help Republicans keep control of Congress.
“If you guys come up here for the Fourth of July celebrations, which will go through July 10 and go down the mall, and each state was
supposed to have a booth representative, you’d be disgusted at the number of states that don’t have anything, because they’re run by blue state governors, and it’s unbelievable. So I think again this election is going to be determinative for us if we can, if we can get through this, and and then get to the 28 presidential election. I think we got a chance to right the ship to get us going in the right direction.”
