It’s incredible that, in just 3 months, this site has grown to the point that presidential candidates will now sit down for one-on-one interviews. My interview skills are trying to keep up with the growth of the site — with varying degrees of success. Regardless, it was an honor to visit with Speaker Gingrich and talk about some of the issues that matter to Alabamians.
A couple of things struck me during the short time we spent together. First, he was familiar with the site, which blew my mind. But more importantly, after a 12+ hour day of campaigning, shaking thousands of hands, signing every autograph and parading around the state, Speaker Gingrich took the time to walk over behind-the-scenes to each cameraman and personally ask them for their vote. No cameras were rolling and there were only about 3 or 4 people in the room. I thought that was pretty cool.
