Connecticut Mayor Wants Voting Rights for Illegal Aliens

If you’ve ever had one shred of doubt about the need for the new Alabama immigration law, take a look at what’s coming down the pike in states that allow illegal immigration to go unchecked. A Connecticut mayor is now petitioning the state legislature to allow illegal immigrants to vote. So, not only will we educate you, provide your healthcare, feed you, and provide you housing, we’ll now let you vote to ensure that you get these services in perpetuity for free at the expense of the American people.

Alabama State Rep. Barry Mask (R-Wetumpka) posted a link to the below article with the caption, “this is what’s next…count on it,” to which Rep. Jim McClendon (R-Springville) responded, “Barry: You and I were sent to Montgomery to squelch this kind of nonsense.”

Examples like the below continue to prove that Alabama Republicans are on the right side of this issue. And in spite of irresponsible and inaccurate media coverage, public opinion continues to be overwhelmingly on their side.

From Examiner.com:

On Tuesday, local media reported that New Haven Mayor John DeStefano will petition the Connecticut legislature to allow illegal aliens to vote in municipal elections.

According to the New Haven Independent, about 10,000 foreign nationals live within the city.

The Democratic mayor claims that illegal aliens pay taxes through their rent payments and therefore should be allowed to vote.

Under the proposal, illegal aliens would still be barred from state and federal elections.

New Haven has long been considered a ‘sanctuary city’ and in 2007 when the city began issuing ID cards to illegal aliens to make it easier for them to gain access to public services.

If the measure should pass, New Haven will join Chicago and several towns in Maryland which allow foreign nationals to vote in municipal elections.
