Legendary Auburn Tiger and one of the most beloved athletes in the history of the state of Alabama Charles Barkley has made a huge donation to Children’s of Alabama in support of the Regions Tradition.

“On behalf of our team at Children’s of Alabama, we are incredibly grateful to Charles Barkley for a $25,000 donation to the hospital as the beneficiary of the Regions Tradition,” Children’s Chief Development Officer Chandler Bibb said. “His continued commitment to the children in our care inspires all of us and we greatly appreciate his generosity.”

Though Barkley was unable to play in this year’s edition of the golf tournament’s celebrity pro-am as he often has over the years, his support of the event continues to be unwavering.

“Charles Barkley has been one of our tournament’s best ambassadors. He first played in our Pro Am in 1993 and has come back almost every year to play in our Pro Am in support of our tournament’s charitable initiatives”, said Eventive Sports president Gene Hallman. “As someone whose family has benefited directly from Children’s of Alabama’s world class services, I am most appreciative of Charles’ donation. His generosity is amazing.”

Barkley has continued to be a huge part of the Regions Tradition and is one of its most important faces.

“The Regions Tradition is connecting great golf with strong philanthropy,” said Regions Bank Birmingham Market president Christian White. “We are incredibly grateful to Charles Barkley for his generous donation to Children’s of Alabama. This commitment, plus proceeds from this year’s Regions Tradition, will make a meaningful difference for children and families across Alabama. And it speaks volumes about Charles’ unwavering dedication to this community and our state.”
