The City of Birmingham got started this week with one of its most anticipated sporting events of the year as the PGA Tour Champions descends on Alabama for the Regions Tradition.

Before crowning a major winner at Greystone Golf & Country Club, Wednesday was the annual Drummond Company Regions Tradition Celebrity Pro-Am which always sees some of the top coaches in the SEC come and show off their golf game.

As is the case every year, a video clip was put together showcasing all of the swings including Nick Saban, U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville, Kirby Smart, Steven Pearl, Kalen DeBoer, Nate Oats and Pete Golding with some impressive skills on the links on full display.

Saban and Tuberville — who are both known to be solid golfers — had their same trademark swings, while DeBoer looks like he has improved since arriving at Alabama.

As for Golding and Smart, these are two good looking swings that look like they pack a bunch of power behind them and can hit the ball a long way.

The two basketball coaches in the state may be at the bottom of the list here, though Pearl’s swing is not horrible by any means. As for Oats, it doesn’t look like he’s gonna be quitting his day job anytime soon.

Regardless of the quality of golf, it looks like it was another great day at the annual event that so many look forward to year after year.
