Cavanaugh secures landslide victory in Republican reelection bid as PSC president

Alabama Public Service Commission President Twinkle Cavanaugh handily secured the Republican Party nomination Tuesday night. With more than 60% of the vote, her campaign described the victory as a clear mandate from Alabamians: More Trump. Less Biden. Keep Twinkle working hard for Alabama.

“I’m thrilled with our victory and am deeply thankful to the Alabamians who stand up against the damaging and nonsensical energy policy coming from the Biden Administration,” Cavanaugh said. “It is an honor to share the ballot with President Trump, a leader who genuinely grasps the necessity of ‘Drill Baby Drill,’ the path to energy independence, and the formula for reigniting our economy’s dynamism.

“Together, we can restore the economic brilliance we witnessed during his tenure.”

Her campaign noted Tuesday’s success was achieved despite “lies and false narratives of radical socialist environmentalists who push the Biden Administration’s harmful energy policies that hurt Alabama families and threaten to destroy our economy.”

She will face no competition in the Nov. 5 general election.
