U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Auburn) is supporting the efforts of President Donald Trump to make sure Iran never gains access to nuclear weapons.
Britt joined U.S. Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) Thursday, in introducing a resolution outlining the acceptable outcome of the United States’ negotiations with the Islamic Republic of Iran. That outcome must include the complete dismantlement and destruction of Iran’s entire nuclear program.

The United States and Iran will hold a new round of nuclear talks Sunday in Oman, just before Trump’s planned visit to the Middle East.
“I’m grateful for the strong leadership President Trump continues to exhibit across the globe. As the most pro-Israel president the United States has ever had, he is restoring credible American deterrence on the world stage by actively advocating for Israel’s security,” Britt said. “I’m proud to join my colleagues in reaffirming our support for the dismantlement and complete destruction of Iran’s entire nuclear program, to protect our allies and to secure our nation from future threats,”
The resolution commends the Trump Administration for engaging in direct talks with the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding its nuclear program. Additionally, it recognizes the Islamic Republic of Iran’s decades of cheating, the regime’s barbaric nature, and its open commitment to destroying the State of Israel.
Trump recently said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that he would only accept “total dismantlement” of Iran’s nuclear program.
“Yeah, that’s all I’d accept,” Trump said. “Now, there’s a new theory going out there that Iran would be allowed to have civilian — meaning to make electricity and to — but I say, you know, they have so much oil, what do they need it for?”
