Auburn has real chance to pull off second straight upset this week vs. LSU

(Auburn Football/X)

The Auburn Tigers are going to attempt to pull off a second straight massive victory in the SEC coming off their shocking win at Georgia last week, and they have a real chance to do it.

With the LSU Tigers and head coach Lane Kiffin coming to Jordan-Hare Stadium, the formula Auburn showed in Athens could translate as well to this one. Using Byrum Brown’s legs and winning the turnover battle is the way for the Tigers to win games like this, and LSU comes to The Plains as a different team on the road than they have been at home.

Defensively, LSU has largely been a disaster when playing away from Baton Rouge, and Auburn’s offense seemingly started to click last week. It’s always difficult to repeat a special performance like that. There’s a reason LSU is more than a touchdown favorite, but this is very much a winnable game for the home team.

Alex Golesh has this team – and this fanbase – believing again. Despite the fact that they have never wavered in their support, the Jordan-Hare crowd will be absolutely rocking on Saturday afternoon at kickoff.

Should Auburn find a way to win, they would jump into the top-25, and the conversation surrounding the goals for this team could get a whole lot more serious than just attempting to qualify for a bowl game. They will certainly be the underdog, but that’s not a role Auburn has any issue playing.
